     New Personal Record

       Give Up On Your Dreams

Oh, its never, ever, ever too late to give up on your dreams

Pack ‘em up and get a new set of far-fetched schemes

Oh, it’s never, ever, ever too late to find out it’s too late

And what you worked so hard for just turned you into someone that you hate.

Dreams…you rap yourself inside a bundle of dreams

Dreams…that look for lives to latch onto.

They get inside you, they hypnotize you, they walk you down that golden road

But there’s no knowing just where they’re going

They just lead you on.

Oh, it’s never, never, ever too late to make your big mistake.

Take a chance on some romance that could only end in heartache.

It’s never gone on too long to find out you cant go on.

You might need to change the scene and get back to where you truly belong.

So long…to all that meaningless noise going on

So long….you wont miss that when it’s gone.

What get’s inside you or stands beside you?

What angel sits upon your shoulder?

What does it tell you? What does it try to sell you?

Do you believe it all?

And if your lofty dreams should fall…

You know it’s never, never, ever too late to give up on your dreams.

                                  Uneasy Street

We were living on Uneasy Street. Don’t get no peace in that fever dream.

We were staying in the barrio. Stuck in the mud out on a dirt road.

Some people say that they were happier when they had nothing but I don’t believe them.

They wouldn’t trade their mansions for that shantytown that they forgot about

Down on Uneasy Street.

We were living on Uneasy Street, washing dishes at the meat and three

Scraping resin in a basement room and hanging flyers for the street team.

Some people say that life is crappier, now that they have everything they’ve ever needed.

But would they trade their house of gold for that bungalow and a defaulted loan

Down on Uneasy Street?

This factory town, it practically owns you.

Living poverty bound, it can cost you a fortune

So let me remind you…

When we were living on Uneasy Street nothing ever came easily

We always said that if we made it somewhere we’d never, ever, ever go back there.

I’d like to say that I was happier when I had nothing but I don’t believe that.

I would trade the life I have for some bachelor pad where we used to crash down on

Uneasy Street.

                Fill It Up

Are you teased by my love?  Did you skin your knees on my love?

Baby, that’s alright.   Alright,  alright

Would you be pleased by my love or diseased by my love

Would it be alright?  Alright,  alright, alright

First time I met you I was shaking like a leaf in the breeze.

Talking at you like an overbearing boy of fifteen

Just being with you, well, it sure did take a piece right out of me

Now I’ve got a hole in my heart. I don’t know just how deep or how dark

I’ve got a hole in my heart, could you fill it up?

Fill it up, Fill it up.

Would I get drunk on your love or run amok on your love

Yeah, I think I might.   I might, I might, I might.

Would I go blind on your love? Loose my mind on your love?  Would I even survive?   Survive,  survive, survive.

So when you see me wont you free me from this constant ache.

Can’t you hear me, come get near me take away my pain.

I want to give you every thing you didn’t already take.

‘cause I’ve got this hole in my heart. I don’t know just how deep or how dark

I’ve got this hole in my heart, could you fill it up?

Could you fill it up?

Could you fill it up?

                                       What You Want

What you want, it wants you right back now.

What you need, it needs you too.

And what you’re looking for is staring back at you

You’ve been looking so long that the memory has faded and gone.

(chorus)

But I can remind you, if you want me to

Of what it felt like when someone was good to you

I can remind you, if you let me do all the things he could not or would not do.

I can remind you of what you want

Is that what you want?

What you want, is that what you want?

Has it been too long to come back to your senses?

Has it been too long to spark up your fire?

Has it been too cold to jump start your engine?

Or could the sun come out and melt the ice?

Or could I remind you? If you want me to

Of what it felt like when someone was good to you

I can remind you, wont you let me do

Everything he could not or would not do

I can remind you of what you want

Is that what you want?

What you want, is that what you want?

                                 Cliché

I saw your face in alabaster like it was carved out of the moon

And you looked just like a statue of a goddess in the ruins

But glory fades, times are changing and the newness wears away.

You used to be a real hot prospect, now you’re only a cliché

But I want to say…

(chorus)

I love you, I love you, I love you my cliché

And that’s truer now than it was yesterday

I know how it sounds like you’ve been making the rounds

Throwing yourself away.

But I still love you, I love you, I love you my cliché.

You have a place forever after in the back of everybody’s mind.

You leave your trace; you leave your ashes where you used to burn like fire.

You were not made or manufactured; you just simply came to be.

When you were thrown out by the rest of them, well that’s when you came to me.

Now can’t you see?...

~repeat chorus~

(bridge)

You know I wouldn’t say it, I wouldn’t say it if it wasn’t true.

Don’t know if you’re using me or I’m using you.

And I hate how it sounds like you’ve been passed around and everyone’s thrown you away.

But I still love you, I love you, I love you

I still love you, I love you, I love you.

I still love you, I love you, I love you my cliché

          Far Away From Here

There’s a plane that flying out tonight.

I’m gonna put you on that red eyed flight

And in the morning you’ll be somewhere nice

And far away from here.

I’m sorry, baby, but you’ve got to go

And where you’re headed, well it’s best that I don’t know

And if I call you don’t pick up your phone

‘cause it might not be me.

You’ve got to leave me, please believe me

They’re coming after me.

And if they catch me, well they might just leave you be.

(riffX2)

We’ve got enough to get you anywhere

And plenty more to live in comfort there

Just pack a couple of things to wear

Far away from here

They’re gonna get me, they’ll never quit me

After all I’ve done.

So take the money and just run, baby run.

(riffX2 , solo, riffX3)

There’ a plane that flying out tonight

And it’s time to get on board that flight

So in the morning you’ll be somewhere nice

Far away from here, far away from here.

                       Silly Thing To Love

She fits me like a tailored suit; She wears me like a pair of shoes

But don’t call it love, I’ll never let her in my heart.

She warms me like an overcoat; she saves me like an old lifeboat

But don’t call it love, I’ll never hold her in my arms.

All the others treat me bad, all the others made me sad in love.

All the women of my dreams turned out to be silly things to love.

She leaves me with a lonesome pain; she comes back and I’m fine again

But don’t call it love, I wont be in that anymore.

I’d follow her to hell and back, I’d sign her like a legal contract

But don’t call it love, don’t talk about that anymore.

All the other treat me bad, all the others made me sad in love.

All the women of my dreams they turned out to be silly things to love.

C’mon, C’mon…

Oh, you silly thing, you sweet little pretty thing

C’mon back to me, yeah

Oh, you silly thing you sweet little pretty thing

C’mon back to me, yeah

Oh, you silly thing, you’re such a little pretty thing to love.

So, all the others treat me bad, all the others made me sad in love

All the others came to play but all of them just walked away from love.

The harder that they are to get, the harder that they are to quit in love.

So, all the women of my dreams they turned out to be silly things to love.

                         Ugly

Why wont you dance with me?  Is it ‘cause I’m ugly?

My hamfisted hand or my two left feet?

Why wont you dance with me?

Why wont you talk to me? Is it cause I’m ugly?

Those guys you’re with, they look like they just crawled off the street

So, why wont you talk to me?

it’s what we’re like on the inside.

Didn’t your mama tell you? Didn’t your mama tell you?

It’s what we’re like on the inside that counts

Didn’t your mama tell you? Didn’t your mama tell you?

Why wont you sit by me? Is it ‘cause I’m creepy?

I thought girls like you were into all that danger and mystique

So why wont you sit by me?

(solo over verse)

she might look good on the outside

but my mama told me, yes, my mama told me

might not be good on the inside, you’ll find out

that’s what my mama told me, that’s what she told me

so that’s why you wont dance with me

it’s because you’re ugly

I’ve come to the conclusion there aint nothing wrong with me

So why wont you dance, why wont you dance, why wont you dance with me?

                              Ivory Tower

When I build my ivory tower filled with all the treasure it can hold

Shall I put you there, shall I put you there with all that silver and that gold.

When I dig my deep, dark dungeon and fill it up with those who’ve done me wrong.

Should I keep you down underneath the ground chained up to a cold stone wall.

Some say your body is a temple, I say your body is a church

If I made you into my religion would you let me down or would you make me hurt?

Should I build a stone cathedral and cut your story into windows of stained glass?

Would it please you now just to look back down and see it rising up through the clouds.

Do I take your love like a prescription or do I just take it like a drug?

If I made you into my addiction would you keep me down more than you lift me up?

(solo)

They say all glory is fleeting and every mountain turns to dust

I think I’m off the same opinion so I guess that’s got to be true for us.

When I build my ivory tower built from all the treasure that I’ve sold

Just to keep you there. Just to keep you there

In place of silver, instead of gold.  In place of silver, instead of gold.

That’s all I want, that’s all I know.

                      The Thing About Time

You know the thing about time is that it don’t wait for no one

But it never jumps the gun. It just marches on

Another thing about time is that it slips into the future

And what is waiting in the future only time will tell.

(1st chorus)

All things in time, all things in time.

I don’t care how fast you get you’re gonna have to admit

It’s catching up with you

That’s the thing about time; yes, it’s will pass you by

In the blink of an eye, in the space of a heartbeat.

And the concept of time; it is a human construction

A measurement of duration. That’s the basis of time.

(2nd chorus)

Every moment in time, every moment in time

I don’t care how you subtract or try to counteract

It all adds up on you.

~SOLO~

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

And time brings forgivness though it’s slow as Christmas

It’s gonna heal all your wounds.

That’s the thing about time; no, it don’t wait for no one

But it never jumps the gun it just keeps marching on

It just keeps marching on.  It just keeps marching on.
